Self Image Online and in the Real World

A group of 9 ten year old children in a Primary 6 class in Northern Ireland UK. carried out research on Self Image. The Early Years facilitators worked closely with the children throughout the entire research process implementing the WYRED methodology

The research question for this project was – Is self-image more important online or in the real world? A questionnaire was developed to find out opinions from 38 children aged 11 years.   

This research found out that:

Most people are online

More people think they are funnier when they are online

Less people thought that it was important to manage their self-image

4 people admitted to judging their self-image

Most agree that people bully because of self-image

Most agree that self-image is more important online

People are not honest about their self-image online
